The Exhibition

Pietropaolo's work in this exhibition highlights the conditions of Italian immigrants and Italian Canadians working on industrial projects in Canadian cities as well as documenting the heritage culture in their communities. The exhibition highlights fifty photographs published in Not Paved with Gold and Ritual plus fifteen historical photos of Italian immigrants in industrial sites from the Niagara Region archived at the Museum of St. Catharines. The exhibit is in synergy with the focus of heritage culture and the history of the immigrant experience in Canada during its celebration of 150 years. According to Canadian Geographic Magazine, Pietropaolo is “one of Canada’s pre-eminent documentary photographers.”
